Under the direction of professor Thomas B. Mack, the Florida Citrus Archives at Florida Southern College initiated an ambitious oral history project in the early 2000s. The goal of the project was to record and publish firsthand stories from men and women involved in all aspects of Florida's vibrant citrus industry during the 20th Century. The McKay Archives Center has continued this project in association with the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame, and is pleased to publish these transcripts as a contribution to a fuller understanding of the industry and its leaders. Included among those interviewed are a number of members of the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame.
These transcripts may be excerpted for scholarly projects but may not be republished in their entirety without express written permission of the Florida Southern College Archives. The comments expressed in these oral history transcripts are the personal views and opinions of those interviewed and do not constitute the official position of Florida Southern College.
If you have a connection with the industry and have a story to share, please let us know. Contact the archives (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Citrus Hall of Fame Executive Director Brenda Eubanks Burnette (email@example.com) for more information.
